Why this matters

Illinois has statewide homestead exemption categories, but filing requirements vary by county. Missing exemptions may also have prior-year correction paths depending on the county and tax year. This is separate from the appeal model: it can produce savings even when the assessed value is otherwise defensible.

County-safe filing lane

Cook County has a verified representative-submit lane after the official Attorney/Representative Authorization Form and customer documents are on file. Other live Illinois counties stay in prep and customer-submit mode until we verify the county authority source directly. No county passwords.

Run exemption audit

Takes about one minute. We use the answers only to flag likely filing paths.

Exemption workflows may require identity, occupancy, senior, veteran, disability, or income-adjacent documents. Do not upload Social Security numbers, bank logins, unrelated medical records, or documents not needed for your appeal.
Illinois lists $75,000 for taxable year 2026, $77,000 for 2027, and $79,000 for 2028+.
Filing support
Optional add-on

Start with screen-only if you just want the audit. Choose prep or submission support only when you want the $19 add-on workflow or Tier A included support. Cook can move into authorized submit after the official form; other counties stay customer-submit until authority is verified. This form does not create a charge.

Screen-only keeps this fast. If Censum later helps prep or submit, we will collect the authority, signed authorization where applicable, and filing acknowledgements before ops review.

This is informational screening, not legal or tax advice. Eligibility depends on county rules and customer-provided documents. Deletion requests are subject to legal, payment, fraud-prevention, and recordkeeping obligations. Censum files only where county rules allow authorized representative filing.
